The current family roster
The wave roster has ten ordinary enemy families. Their names stay stable while each chapter’s visual skin and difficulty change around them. The icons below show the Chapter I skin.
| Wave family | Place in the roster |
|---|---|
| Ashling | Opening family |
| Murk | Early pressure |
| Hollow | Early-to-middle pressure |
| Gloomchaser | The designated rusher |
| Shroud | Middle pressure |
| Wisp | Middle-to-late pressure |
| Grim | Late pressure |
| Dread | Late pressure |
| Gloombrute | Heavy late body |
| Dreadhulk | Final heavy tier |
These are encounter families, not ten separate build choices. The chapter wave table decides when a family enters, while the selected difficulty can promote eligible bodies and raise their pressure. Each chapter keeps its own authored wave identity, so the same family label can read differently as the world and difficulty change.
What to watch in a crowd
Gloomchaser is the roster’s speed answer: it closes distance faster than the ordinary bodies around it. Leave a lane before it reaches you instead of waiting for the whole crowd to arrive.
Gloombrute and Dreadhulk are late heavy bodies. Their threat is the time they occupy in the field and the cost of letting them make contact. A build that only clears light bodies quickly can still lose its escape space when the heavies arrive.
All ordinary enemies can contribute Soul Stones to the run. Keep moving through the safest side of the crowd, collect the drops when the route is open, and let automatic spells do their work while you choose the next upgrade.
The five chapter bosses and the named chapter encounters use their own rules. Read bosses and encounters for those exceptions instead of treating them as another wave tier.
