Automatic combat

The current combat inventory is built from automatically cast Spells. The runtime has no separate Weapon catalogue or Weapon class; use the Spell catalogue for offensive equipment.

When a visible enemy exists inside the camera bounds, the player fires the owned Spells. If no visible target exists, the Spells advance their cooldown state without firing, which prevents off-screen opening shots.

Level-up choices

Soul Stone XP opens a paused level-up choice. The offer pool can contain new or improved Spells and available Stones, with owned Spell weighting and a guarantee path for missing member Spells from the selected Family. Choosing an offer resumes the run and checkpoints the active build.

Reroll and Banish

These controls apply to ordinary Chapter level-up offers. Eligibility is checked when a new run starts:

Control Unlock Use
Reroll Discover five different base Spells. One use per eligible run replaces as many ordinary offers as the available alternatives allow.
Banish Earn three different Stone Max achievements. One use per eligible run replaces a selected ordinary Spell or Stone offer and excludes that definition from later ordinary offers for this run.

Altar-ready level-seven Spell cards are retained and cannot be rerolled or banished. Banish changes future offers; it does not remove an upgrade you already own. If no eligible replacement exists, the control keeps its use. Using a control refreshes the choices while gameplay stays paused; you still need to choose an upgrade.

These controls are not part of the standalone Timeless RIFT reward flow. See Stones for the Stone Max unlock.

Spell upgrade ladder

An ordinary Spell can advance through six levels. Its level-seven choice is an Altar replacement that carries a Death, Light, or Spirit seal; the Altar form is not an ordinary Spell upgrade. An Advanced Spell enters through an eligible Rite choice and does not gain an Altar form or ordinary level-up path.

Family mastery

After activating your Family Synergy, make 10 further ordinary upgrades to its member Spells to awaken your paired Character’s mastery ability. Earlier upgrades, Altar replacements, and restoring saved levels do not add to this counter. See Families for Spirit Orbit, Ashen Bulwark, Moonwake Shadow, and Oracle’s Tempo.

Build gates

Family selection is validated against the paired character and current availability before the run admits it. A Synergy needs the selected Family plus all three ordinary member Spells. A Rite then needs that Synergy, live Altar Seals on all three Family member Spells, and no Advanced Spell already in the build.
