The three Altar types
Every base spell has a Death, Light, and Spirit form. Their effects differ by spell, so the same label does not promise the same kind of improvement. Some forms trade cooldown, size, duration, projectile speed, or coverage for another benefit. Each base spell article records all three descriptions.
Replacement rule
An Altar choice replaces the matching active ordinary spell with its level-seven form and preserves the remaining cooldown. The chosen form keeps its source spell and seal type for the run; those determine which Rite can open. The sealed spell remains active in the build.
What a seal records
Rites use the exact source spell and Altar type attached to each live seal without moving or consuming it. All three member Spells of the selected Family must carry distinct live seals. One or two sealed members cannot open the Rite. Any mixture of Death, Light, and Spirit is valid; all three may use the same type.
Advanced Spells
Advanced Spells do not have Altar variants, ordinary level upgrades, family membership, or seals.
